Puerto Rico terror: spat of kidnapping robberies

As if things weren’t bad enough in Puerto Rico, police are now reporting a spat of kidnappings and robberies.  Primera Hora reports 7 such kidnappings have been reported in Puerto Rico in the last few weeks.

The latest kidnapping was reported in Santurce Tuesday night. Two men reportedly assaulted a Taxi driver, kidnapped him and took his minivan.

It doesn’t take much to figure out that this kind of robbery could be a very real threat to tourists visiting the island.  So far, not tourists have been reported to have been involved with the most recent incidents, however; if Taxi drivers are being attacked, it could very easily involve a tourists passenger if it keeps happening.

The good news is that the victims have been released alive.

Meanwhile, a group of 8 thieves broke into a family function in Summit Hill, Puerto Nuevo.  They held up the entire family and visitors taking various items.

Bottom line, if you are visiting Puerto Rico or if you still leave there, always, ALWAYS be on your guard.
